Here’s today’s 37 stroke practice. I used a cream color and a golden rod color paper for these. It’s my sister, walking her dog through Mandarin Park. I like them both, for different reasons. The yellow ground is a better contrast for the light colors on the dog and the blue in the sky. The cream color ground pastel is a better composition. I’m starting to feel a lot looser in my execution and this is a good thing.
Here’s the dragon window, a shot of the thing in progress and for scale (it’s about 4 1/2 feet wide), and also on the window in Sam’s room. Tonight I’ll take a shot of it from outside, lit from inside the house and post it tomorrow. We left some of the scales without color so Sam could peek through. I call them “reality-colored”.
