Wading in

Here’s a wading bird. I think it’s a heron of some sort. He was industriously searching for tasty little fish to eat and hardly noticed me at all.

Available on Daily Paintworks.

About Marie Marfia

Once upon a time I went to a belly dancing class and promptly fell in love with my instructor and her students. As a result, I'm on a mission to complete 100 portraits of belly dancers using soft pastels. I am hoping that by the end of this project I'll have gained some mastery of pastels and of myself. Feel free to stop by and share my journey as I learn about pastels, art and the life of a daily painter.

Beautiful drawing of a great blue heron. I think they are so intriguing. The ones where I live are very skittish, but the ones you see all over Florida seem to pay little attention to humans.

Thanks for identifying it for me! It’s true, this guy was surrounded by people, but wasn’t bothered at all by it.
