Bright colors

If you stripped away the fear from my memories, all that would be left would be brightly colored pictures in reds and blues and greens, with no yellow in them at all, except for the sun. I would like to paint more yellow-free pictures.

5×7″ pastel, still life, fruit. Click to bid.

Here’s today’s pastel. Steve went out and got some citrus from a little serve yourself stand that’s in the neighborhood. He likes to go there because they have kumquats and those are his very favorite. They make good still lifes, too. Available on ebay.

Hey, I’ll be at Art Walk this Wednesday, in the Carling Building on Adams Street. Stop by, if you’re in the neighborhood between 5-9pm, and say hello.

About Marie Marfia

Once upon a time I went to a belly dancing class and promptly fell in love with my instructor and her students. As a result, I'm on a mission to complete 100 portraits of belly dancers using soft pastels. I am hoping that by the end of this project I'll have gained some mastery of pastels and of myself. Feel free to stop by and share my journey as I learn about pastels, art and the life of a daily painter.
